- Will this work on my phone?
- Your phone needs to support eSIM and be carrier-unlocked. iPhone XS, XR and later support eSIM, as do most Android phones from the last few years. The app checks your device before you pay.
- Do I keep my own phone number?
- Yes. The travel eSIM sits alongside your usual SIM. Calls and messages keep arriving on your own number while your mobile data runs over the local network.
- Can I make phone calls with it?
- No. These plans are data-only: mobile internet, not a local phone number. Calling apps that work over the internet will work as usual.
- When does my plan start counting down?
- For most plans the validity period starts when the eSIM first connects to a network in your destination, not when you buy it. Each plan page states its own validity period.
- Should I install it before I travel?
- Yes, we recommend it. Downloading an eSIM needs an internet connection, and that is exactly what you will not have when you land. Install at home over Wi-Fi, then switch the line on after you arrive.
- My eSIM is installed but there is no data. What now?
- Almost always this is data roaming. The plan uses a local partner network, so your phone treats it as roaming — turn roaming on for the travel line (not your home line) and make sure the travel line is selected for mobile data.Read more →
- How long is an unused eSIM valid?
- An eSIM you have bought but never used stays valid for 180 days from purchase. Install and start using it within that window.
- Can I get a refund?
- Yes, under the conditions set out in our refund policy. Please read the full policy before you buy.Read more →
- Where do I actually buy a plan?
- In the Voyafi app for iOS and Android. This website shows our catalogue and prices; the purchase and the installation both happen in the app.
